Payment processor (Merchants): confirmation of payment status, the last four digits and expiration date of a card, and billing country or ZIP code.

2.4 Sensitive Information
Precise geolocation is treated as sensitive information under some state privacy laws. We collect it only with your consent. Please do not post sensitive information (such as health information, immigration status, financial account numbers, or government ID numbers) in public posts or messages to Merchants. If you choose to include sensitive information in a legal-intake submission, you consent to our processing it to provide the legal-intake feature and the referral you request.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
Create, verify, and secure your account, including sending SMS or email verification codes.
Operate the Platform, including displaying service requests to relevant Merchants and showing Merchant listings to Residents.
Match Residents and Merchants by service category, language, and location.
Relay messages between Residents and Merchants by SMS and email while keeping each side's real phone number and email address private.
Send service-related notifications, such as new message alerts, responses to your service requests, account notices, and security alerts.
Provide the legal-intake feature and, at your request, refer you to our independent partner law firm.
Process Merchant subscriptions, invoices, renewals, and cancellations.
Provide the Platform in your preferred language (Chinese, English, Spanish, Korean, or Hindi).
Respond to support requests, questions, and complaints.
Monitor, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, harassment, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.
Analyze usage to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Platform.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our legal rights.
We use personal information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or purposes reasonably compatible with them. We will ask for your consent before using personal information for a materially different purpose.
4. SMS / Text Messaging Program Terms
4.1 Program Description. The East Life text messaging program sends (a) one-time verification codes to confirm your phone number and sign you in, and (b) service-related messages. Service-related messages include notices of new messages relayed from Residents or Merchants, responses to service requests, account and security alerts, and customer support replies. We do not send marketing text messages under this program.
4.2 Consent. When you provide your mobile phone number and request a verification code, or enable text notifications, you consent to receive verification and service-related text messages from East Life at that number. Messages may be sent using automated technology. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. If you do not want to receive text messages, you may register and receive notifications by email instead.
4.3 Message Frequency. Message frequency varies based on your account activity, such as how often you sign in and how many messages you send or receive.
4.4 Costs. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan for details. Journey does not charge for text messages.
4.5 Opt-Out. Reply STOP to any East Life text message to opt out. We will also honor other reasonable opt-out requests, such as replying END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT, or emailing frank@journeyentertainment.net. After you opt out, we will send one final message confirming your opt-out and will stop sending text messages to that number. If you opt out, you will stop receiving relayed message alerts by text, and you may need to sign in by email or check messages on the Platform. To resume, reply START or re-enable text notifications in your account.
4.6 Help. Reply HELP to any East Life text message for help, or contact us at frank@journeyentertainment.net.
4.7 Carrier Disclaimer. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on your wireless carrier and device and is not guaranteed.
4.8 Mobile Information. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with service providers that help us deliver text messages, as described in Section 6.
4.9 Eligibility and Number Changes. You represent that you are the account holder or an authorized user of the mobile number you provide. If you change or give up your mobile number, update your account or reply STOP from the old number so we do not send messages to its new owner.
5. Message Relay and Privacy Masking
When a Resident and a Merchant communicate through the Platform, we relay messages by SMS and email using Platform-assigned numbers or addresses. Neither side sees the other side's real phone number or email address unless that User chooses to share it. To provide this feature, we process and store message content and metadata. We may review messages, using automated tools or manual review, to deliver them, prevent spam, fraud, and abuse, respond to reports, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with law. If you choose to share your own contact details in a message, the other User will receive them, and communications outside the Platform are not covered by our masking feature.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. We share personal information only as follows:
6.1 Service Providers. We share personal information with vendors that perform services for us under contracts that limit their use of the information to providing those services. These include:
SMS and voice delivery providers;
email delivery providers;
cloud hosting, data storage, and security providers;
translation and customer support tools;
analytics providers; and
payment processors (for Merchant subscriptions only).
6.2 Legal Requirements and Protection. We may disclose personal information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process. We may also disclose it when reasonably necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of Users, the public, or Journey, or to investigate fraud or violations of our Terms of Service.
6.3 At Your Direction. Some sharing is part of how the Platform works and happens because you direct it:
Service requests you post are visible to Merchants on the Platform.
Merchant listings, profiles, and reviews are visible to Platform visitors.
Messages you send are delivered to the User you send them to.
If you ask to be referred through the legal-intake feature, we send your intake information to the independent partner law firm so it can contact you. That firm handles your information under its own privacy practices and professional obligations.
6.4 Business Transfers. If Journey is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of its assets, personal information may be transferred to the successor. The successor must honor this Privacy Policy for information collected under it, or we will notify you of any change.
6.5 Aggregated or De-identified Information. We may share information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be linked to you. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified information.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Typical retention periods are:
Account information: while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
Messages and relay metadata: 24 months after the last message in a conversation, unless needed longer to investigate a report or comply with law.
Verification codes: only until they expire or are used.
Merchant billing records: as required for tax and accounting purposes.
Legal-intake submissions: 12 months after submission, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate and secure the Platform, such as session and language cookies. We also use analytics cookies to understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may cause parts of the Platform to stop working. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising. Where required by law, we honor browser-based universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising.
9. Your Privacy Rights
9.1 Your Rights. Depending on where you live, and in all cases as a matter of our policy, you may ask us to:
Confirm and access: confirm whether we process your personal information and access it.
Correct: correct inaccurate personal information.
Delete: delete personal information you provided or that we collected about you.
Portability: get a copy of your personal information in a portable, readily usable format.
Opt out: opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not engage in these activities.
Withdraw consent: withdraw consent you previously gave, such as for precise geolocation or text messages.
9.2 How to Make a Request. Email frank@journeyentertainment.net with the subject line "Privacy Request." You can also update certain information directly in your account settings. We will verify your request by confirming control of the phone number or email address on your account, and we may ask for additional information if needed. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission. We may verify your identity directly in that case.
9.3 Response Time. We will respond within 45 days of receiving your request. If reasonably necessary, we may extend that period by an additional 45 days and will tell you the reason within the first 45 days. We respond free of charge for at least one request per 12-month period. We may charge a reasonable fee, or decline, if requests are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive.
9.4 Appeals. If we decline to act on your request, we will explain why. You may appeal by emailing frank@journeyentertainment.net with the subject line "Privacy Appeal" within a reasonable time after our decision. We will respond in writing within 45 days of receiving your appeal and explain our decision. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general. New Jersey residents may contact the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
9.5 Non-Discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your privacy rights.
9.6 Email Choices. You may unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in the email. We will still send essential account, security, and transactional messages.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting access to staff and service providers who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your verification codes and password confidential. Notify us right away at frank@journeyentertainment.net if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
11. Children and Minors
The Platform is intended only for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact frank@journeyentertainment.net.
12. Third-Party Sites and Services
The Platform may link to third-party websites or services, including Merchant websites and the partner law firm. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before providing them personal information.
13. Data Location
We are based in the United States, and we and our service providers store and process personal information in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
14. Language Versions
We may provide this Privacy Policy in Chinese, English, Spanish, Korean, and Hindi. If a translated version conflicts with the English version, the English version controls to the extent permitted by law.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Platform and revise the "Last Updated" date. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email, by text message where appropriate, or by a prominent notice on the Platform before the change takes effect. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent.
