EAST LIFE TERMS OF SERVICE
Effective Date: November 5, 2026
Last Updated: November 5, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Journey Entertainment LLC ("Journey," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of East Life, including myeastlife.com and any related websites, applications, and messaging services (together, the "Platform").
By creating an account, clicking "I agree," or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
PLEASE READ SECTION 3 (PLATFORM ROLE), SECTION 11 (LEGAL-INTAKE DISCLAIMER), SECTION 14 (DISCLAIMERS), AND SECTION 15 (LIMITATION OF LIABILITY) CAREFULLY. THEY AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
1. Definitions
"Resident" means an individual who uses the Platform to post service needs, browse Merchants, or communicate with Merchants.
"Merchant" means a business or individual service provider that subscribes to the Platform to list and offer services.
"User" or "you" means any Resident, Merchant, or visitor using the Platform.
"Merchant Services" means any goods or services a Merchant offers or provides to a Resident.
"User Content" means any content a User submits to the Platform, including posts, service requests, listings, photos, messages, reviews, and profile information.
"Legal-Intake Feature" means the Platform feature described in Section 11.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
2.1 Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform. If you use the Platform on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms, and "you" includes that business.
2.2 Registration. You may register with a mobile phone number verified by an SMS code, or with an email address. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated.
2.3 Account Security. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your verification codes, password, and devices secure, and do not share your account. Notify us immediately at frank@journeyentertainment.net if you suspect unauthorized use.
2.4 One Account. Each individual or business may keep only one account of each type unless we approve otherwise. You may not create an account using another person's phone number or email address, or after we have suspended or terminated your account.
2.5 Communications. By registering, you agree to receive verification and service-related messages by SMS and email as described in our Privacy Policy. This includes the SMS program terms there (message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help).
3. Platform Role: Intermediary Only
3.1 Marketplace Only. The Platform is an online venue that helps Residents and Merchants find and communicate with each other. Journey is not a provider of Merchant Services. Journey does not perform, supervise, direct, or control any Merchant Services.
3.2 Not a Party. Any agreement for Merchant Services is solely between the Resident and the Merchant. Journey is not a party to that agreement. Journey is not a broker, agent, employer, partner, joint venturer, insurer, or guarantor of any User. Merchants are independent businesses and are not employees or agents of Journey.
3.3 No Payment Processing Between Users. The Platform does not currently process payments between Residents and Merchants. Residents and Merchants arrange and make payment directly with each other. Journey does not collect, hold, or refund payments for Merchant Services. Journey is not responsible for pricing, deposits, invoices, refunds, or payment disputes between Users.
3.4 No Guarantee of Merchant Services. Journey does not guarantee or warrant the quality, safety, legality, timeliness, pricing, or suitability of any Merchant Services. Journey also does not guarantee the truth or accuracy of any listing, credential, review, or service request. Unless we expressly state otherwise for a specific listing, Journey does not verify Merchant licenses, insurance, bonding, background, or qualifications. Any badge, ranking, or category placement is not an endorsement.
3.5 Your Responsibility. Residents are responsible for evaluating Merchants before hiring them. That includes checking required licenses, insurance, references, and written estimates, and agreeing on terms directly with the Merchant. Merchants are responsible for evaluating requests and Residents before accepting work. Use caution and good judgment when meeting anyone in person or admitting anyone to your home or business.
3.6 Disputes Between Users. Disputes about Merchant Services must be resolved directly between the Resident and the Merchant. Journey may, at its discretion, help facilitate communication or take action on accounts under these Terms. Journey has no obligation to resolve or mediate disputes.
4. Residents
Residents may use the Platform free of charge to post service needs, browse Merchants, and send messages. Residents agree to post only genuine service requests and to describe their needs accurately. Residents must not use the Platform to solicit services that are illegal.
5. Merchants
5.1 Subscriptions. Merchants must buy a monthly subscription to list services and respond to service requests. Plan features and prices are shown on the Platform at the time of purchase.
5.2 Automatic Renewal. UNLESS CANCELED, YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS AUTOMATICALLY EACH MONTH, AND WE WILL CHARGE YOUR PAYMENT METHOD ON FILE THE THEN-CURRENT MONTHLY FEE ON EACH RENEWAL DATE. You may cancel at any time in your account settings or by emailing frank@journeyentertainment.net. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
5.3 Fees, Taxes, and Refunds. Fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable for partial months, except where required by law or where we terminate your subscription without cause. You are responsible for applicable taxes. We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice before the change applies to your next renewal. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
5.4 Failed Payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend your listing until payment is received.
5.5 Merchant Representations. Each Merchant represents and agrees that it:
holds and will maintain all licenses, registrations, permits, and insurance required by law for the Merchant Services it offers;
will describe its services, pricing, credentials, and service area accurately;
will perform Merchant Services in a professional manner and in compliance with all applicable laws, including consumer protection, home improvement, licensing, tax, employment, and anti-discrimination laws;
is solely responsible for its own workers, subcontractors, tools, materials, and workplace safety; and
will not discriminate against any Resident on any basis prohibited by law.
5.6 Contacting Residents. Merchants may use relayed contact only to respond to the specific service request or inquiry involved. Merchants must not add Residents to marketing lists, or send them unsolicited marketing texts, calls, or emails, without the Resident's separate consent as required by law.
6. Message Relay
The Platform relays messages between Residents and Merchants by SMS and email without revealing either side's real phone number or email address. You agree that:
we may process, store, and review relayed messages as described in our Privacy Policy;
you will not use the relay to send spam, harassment, threats, fraud, or illegal content;
message delivery depends on carriers, email providers, and other third parties, and we do not guarantee that any message will be delivered or delivered on time; and
if you choose to share your own contact details or move a conversation off the Platform, our masking feature no longer protects that communication.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
violate any law or the rights of any person;
post false, misleading, or fraudulent content, including fake service requests, fake listings, or fake reviews;
impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation, licenses, or credentials;
harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or discriminate against any person;
post content that is obscene, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or exploitative of minors;
offer or request illegal goods or services, including services that require a license you do not hold;
collect, scrape, or harvest data or contact information of other Users;
use bots, scripts, or automated means to access the Platform without our written permission;
attempt to unmask, intercept, or reverse-engineer the message relay or other Users' contact information;
upload viruses or malicious code, or interfere with the security or operation of the Platform;
circumvent account suspensions, verification, or other access controls;
use the Platform to send unsolicited commercial messages; or
post anyone's private information without their consent.
We may investigate violations and take any action we consider appropriate, including removing content, suspending or terminating accounts, and reporting to law enforcement.
8. User Content
8.1 Ownership. You keep ownership of your User Content.
8.2 License to Journey. You grant Journey a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify (including to format, translate, or resize), display, perform, and distribute your User Content. This license is for the purposes of operating, providing, improving, and promoting the Platform. It continues for a commercially reasonable period after you delete the User Content or your account. It survives indefinitely for User Content that other Users have received, such as messages, or as needed for legal, security, or backup purposes.
8.3 Translation. You authorize us to translate your User Content, including by automated tools, into the languages the Platform supports. We do not guarantee the accuracy of translations.
8.4 Your Representations. You represent that you own or have all necessary rights to your User Content and to grant the license above. You also represent that your User Content does not violate these Terms, any law, or any third party's rights.
8.5 Moderation. We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, review, edit, or remove User Content at any time and for any reason, including for violation of these Terms. We are not responsible for User Content posted by others.
8.6 Reviews. Reviews must reflect the reviewer's genuine experience. Merchants may not offer compensation for reviews, post reviews of their own business or competitors, or pressure Residents to change or remove honest reviews. Nothing in these Terms restricts a User's right to post an honest review.
8.7 Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
8.8 Copyright Complaints. If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated copyright agent: Journey Entertainment LLC, Attn: Copyright Agent, 116 Corporate Blvd, Suite B, South Plainfield, NJ 07080, Email: frank@journeyentertainment.net. The notice must include the information required under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
9. Journey Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the East Life name and marks, is owned by Journey or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform except as these Terms expressly permit.
10. Third-Party Services
The Platform may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites and services, including SMS and email providers, payment processors, Merchant websites, and the partner law firm. Journey does not control and is not responsible for third-party services. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.
11. Legal-Intake Disclaimer
11.1 General Information Only. The Legal-Intake Feature provides general legal information for educational purposes and, at your request, a referral to an independent partner law firm. JOURNEY IS NOT A LAW FIRM, IS NOT A LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE OPERATED OR APPROVED BY A BAR ASSOCIATION, AND DOES NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE. Information provided through the Legal-Intake Feature is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney about your specific situation. It may not reflect the most current law or the law in your jurisdiction.
11.2 No Attorney-Client Relationship with Journey. Using the Legal-Intake Feature does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Journey or any of its employees or contractors. Communications you submit to Journey through the Legal-Intake Feature are not protected by attorney-client privilege as communications with Journey.
11.3 Independent Partner Law Firm. The partner law firm, [Law firm name — to be confirmed], is independent of Journey. Journey does not control the firm's legal judgment, services, fees, or decisions about whether to accept representation. An attorney-client relationship with the partner law firm forms only if you and that firm expressly agree to it, normally in a written engagement agreement. Submitting information through the Platform does not, by itself, create one. Journey does not guarantee that the partner law firm will contact you, accept your matter, or achieve any result. You remain free to choose any lawyer you wish.
11.4 Time-Sensitive Matters. Legal matters can have strict deadlines. Do not delay contacting a lawyer while waiting for a response through the Platform.
11.5 Consent to Share. If you request a referral, you authorize Journey to send your intake submission and contact information to the partner law firm, as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Suspension and Termination
12.1 By You. You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time. Merchants should cancel their subscription under Section 5.2.
12.2 By Journey. We may suspend or terminate your account or access, or remove your content, at any time if we reasonably believe that:
you violated these Terms or the law;
your use creates risk or possible legal exposure for Journey or other Users; or
we are discontinuing the Platform or a feature.
Where reasonable, we will give notice. If we terminate a Merchant subscription without cause, we will refund the prepaid fee for the unused portion of the current billing period.
12.3 Effect. Sections 3, 8.2, 8.4, 9, 11, and 13 through 18 survive termination.
13. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Journey and its members, managers, officers, employees, and agents from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of:
your User Content;
your violation of these Terms or any law; or
for Merchants, any Merchant Services you provide or fail to provide.
This Section does not require you to indemnify Journey for Journey's own negligence, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.
14. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." JOURNEY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. JOURNEY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY MESSAGE WILL BE DELIVERED. JOURNEY MAKES NO WARRANTY ABOUT ANY MERCHANT, RESIDENT, MERCHANT SERVICES, USER CONTENT, TRANSLATION, OR INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE LEGAL-INTAKE FEATURE.
15. Limitation of Liability
15.1 Excluded Damages. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOURNEY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM.
15.2 Conduct of Users and Merchant Services. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOURNEY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF ANY RESIDENT OR MERCHANT, OR FROM ANY MERCHANT SERVICES. THIS INCLUDES PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, NON-PAYMENT, OR POOR WORKMANSHIP, AND ANY ADVICE OR SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE PARTNER LAW FIRM.
15.3 Cap. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOURNEY'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO JOURNEY IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).
15.4 What This Section Does Not Limit. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Journey's liability for:
death or personal injury caused by Journey's negligence;
Journey's gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud; or
any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
This includes rights New Jersey consumers have under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and other New Jersey consumer protection laws that cannot be waived. If you are a New Jersey consumer, Sections 13, 14, and 15 apply to you only to the extent New Jersey law permits. Any part of them that New Jersey law does not permit does not apply to you.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
16.1 Governing Law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Platform are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
16.2 Informal Resolution. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at frank@journeyentertainment.net with a description of the dispute. You and Journey will try in good faith to resolve it informally for 30 days.
16.3 Venue. Except for claims eligible for small claims court, any action must be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, or the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. You and Journey consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on the Platform and update the "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you by email, text message, or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 15 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Platform and, if you are a Merchant, cancel your subscription.
18. General Terms
18.1 Entire Agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any plan terms shown at purchase are the entire agreement between you and Journey about the Platform.
18.2 Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
18.3 No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
18.4 Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
18.5 Force Majeure. Journey is not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control. Examples include carrier or internet outages, natural disasters, government action, or labor disputes.
18.6 Notices. We may send notices to the email address or phone number on your account or post them on the Platform. You may send notices to Journey at the address below.
18.7 Language. We may provide these Terms in Chinese, English, Spanish, Korean, and Hindi. If a translated version conflicts with the English version, the English version controls to the extent permitted by law.
18.8 Relationship. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Journey.
